Peer Review

Peer Review

Peer review involves undertaking an independent clinical assessment with the client (injured worker / claimant) and a discussion with the treating Physiotherapist regarding clinical diagnosis, previous and current treatment and ongoing injury management.  Peer review (with open and constructive discussion with the client’s treating medical practitioners) helps identify the best approach for injury management for the future.

The peer review includes:

  • Identification of functional goals to assist a return to work and return to day to day activities
  • Identification of the facilitators and barriers to return to work
  • Treatment aligned to the ‘Clinical Framework for the Delivery of Health Services’
  • Treatment progression and plans to advance from passive to active interventions and self-management strategies.
  • Cost effectiveness of treatment
  • Appropriate outcome measures to demonstrate the effectiveness of treatment.
